iBook goodness
Well, I bought an iBook. It arrived on Tuesday, from good old Jose Sanchez of Chicago IL, the eBayer from whom I bought this wonderful little laptop.
I told myself I wanted just a little laptop to play with and bring to school, but not to use as my primary computer. Well, the iBook has definitely been my primary computer for the past two days. I’m writing this entry on it, as a matter of fact.
I stayed up late into the night on Tuesday installing Panther, and I’ve been having a grand old time tweaking the system to my liking. This is how a UNIX box should *really* be :)
Pictures coming soon, when I get an image editor on here. iPhoto blows, unfortunately.
Real American Heroes
One of my favorite ad campaigns ever is the Bud Light Real American Heroes and Real Men of Genius series. They’re usually quite hilarious, and the soundtrack to each one is perfect. Some examples:
Mr. Bowling Shoe Giver Outer
Mr. Really Bad Toupee Wearer
Mr. Giant Taco Salad Inventor
And now, there’s an archive of the audio from each commercial. Enjoy.
Estradasphere
In my never-ending, but sometimes pausing quest for new and wonderful music, I’ve come across lots of good and bad music on the net. Thanks to a test listen in my friend Andy’s car, I got more or less hooked on Estradasphere, a funky, jazzy, jamming, mostly instrumental ensemble of guitars, violins, fiddles, saxes, basses, and more. And the wonderful thing is they’re taper friendly. And they have lots o’ shows up on the good old archive.org Live Music Archive.
The internet is a wonderful thing when it comes to awesome, quality, legal music.
Now if only iTunes supported .SHN files.
